Grey Lady Press
Grey Lady Press (GLP) is the editioning arm of the art practice of Heather Burness. Heather has been editioning works since 1995. She began working as an edition printer under the guidance of Basil Hall at Studio One in Canberra and later at the ANU for Yolngu artist, Naminapu Maymuru White.
Heather has been working freelance with selected artists since 2012. GLP has printed for artists from Yirrkala in North East Arnhem Land to create works commissioned and published by Buku Larrnggay Mulka Arts Centre. Notable projects have included prints for the string figure makers of Yirrkala that were part of a research project undertaken by Robyn McKenzie. These were exhibited at the 2010 Garma Festival in Arnhem Land, Northern Territory and at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney in 2013. Heather also completed further works for Yolngu artist Naminapu Maymuru White. Naminapu is represented by Sullivan and Strumpf. The award winning painter Jude Rae has completed several suites of etchings at Grey Lady Press. Jude’s works may be seen at Phillip Bacon Galleries in Brisbane .
